Our Health and Wellness can be approached in so many ways: theoretically, scientifically, allopathically, etc. 27 years in financials services at a fortune 500 company, culminating in VP of Client Services, was no preparation for my health and wellness path ahead. But it laid a solid foundation in what happens when stress is not managed well and health although it was intellectually important, was often sacrificed when daily priorities rubber met the road. I had tired and was conscience of my decisions, the conventional known facts like staying hydrated, eating my veggies and exercising, yet that was not enough as the years moved forward.
My life was speeding by in front of me, my boys were getting older, and I had to make some difficult and courageous decisions. One morning when my oldest son, who was 15 at the time, said “Mom, I don’t know what you will do next but I’m just glad you’ll be around more” was all the confirmation I needed to know that changing my path was the right decision.
I entered Health Care working with Seniors and their families, those of us in the sandwich generation have our work cut out for us. I personally experienced his phenomenon as I navigated the stressful reality of watching my Father’s health decline over the years from cancer, heart disease and Parkinson’s. I had a gnawing awareness that lifestyle played an important role in our long-term health. It was about then that I awoke on my 51st birthday and it seemed like my life changed overnight. My skin was dull and dry, the dreaded muffin top had arrived, quality sleep was a thing of the past and my hair was thinning. Life became foggy and the names of family members and friends escaped me all too often. My old tricks to drop a few pounds no longer worked so it was time to learn what was happening to my mind and body and make sustainable changes. Time to work smarter, time to work with by body and not against it.
Through self-awareness, research and trial and error, the school of hard knocks, I discovered a system of detoxing, whole foods and anti-aging technology that work for me. But, knowing each of us is unique, I went back to school and graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I studied time-tested thought leaders in health & wellness, including Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Mark Hyman and Deepak Chopra. Over the years I have been able to help hundreds of busy, professional women lose weight and embrace a life they love. I do this through a holistic approach looking at emotional, spiritual, and physical areas of your life. I am passionate about health living, removing toxicity from our lives and living a legacy to guide you to vibrant health. I empower women to embrace the right resources and tools to make sustainable, long-term changes in their lives, guiding them to take care of their whole’s self, one step at a time. This doesn’t have to take a lot of time, I am here to guide and support you, giving you resources and life hacks to get results.
